Write a research paper that analyzes methods used to appropriately manage teams and groups within organizations. In your research paper, be sure to include the following elements:

Distinguish between a group and a team.

Distinguish between Teamthink and Groupthink (see article in Unit VII Required Reading, Manz & Neck, 1995), and identify benefits and drawbacks.

Discuss the process of evolving a group into a team and the importance of organizational culture in that process.

Discuss leadership styles that are effective for successful management of multicultural groups and teams.

Include a discussion on any aspect of leadership covered in the course that was of particular interest to you. All aspects of leadership do not need to be included, but followership, ethics, leadership styles, multicultural leadership are all topics that have been studied, and any one (or more) that you found particularly interesting could be incorporated into the discussion.

Now, for this week’s discussion board assignment, you will (1) discuss your anticipated approach to this upcoming assignment. (2) How will you begin your research of the topic? (3) How will you approach locating articles for support?

IMPORTANT: It is highly recommended that you use this unit (i.e., this week) to find the five (5) sources (from a database(s) within the CSU Online Library) you will need to list on the references page for your Unit VII Research Paper assignment. Of course, you will also have to include at least one (1) in-text citation for each of the five (5) sources you found from a database(s) within the CSU Online Library. The sources listed in the Unit VII Study Guide (as part of the “Reading Assignment” and “Suggested Reading”) do not count. You must actually find five (5) new sources from a database(s) within the CSU Online Library.
