There are many databases available through the library and unless you use them you will not become familiar with what is available. Often you will find access to information you did not know was available while you are looking for information.

Within the databases available is one that provides stock reports for individual firms. View the example stock report Preview the documentView in a new window(the firm used as the example cannot be used as your firm). Select a firm in the aviation/ aerospace industry and post the stock report on the discussion board. Provide a three to four sentence summary of the recommendation made on the stock (i.e. Buy/Sell/Hold and the major reasons why). After your short summary (in the same post), post the current stock price and the 12 month target stock price. This is a first come first served discussion meaning if someone posts about their selected firm first they get to post it and you will need to select a new firm.

Identify a problem from your current your former workplace that requires some research to solve/address. Develop a hypothesis for the problem. Identify what type of hypothesis you are using (see readings) and identify the independent and dependent variables you would use to further investigate the problem. Post a brief description of the problem, including the above information early in the module week so that other students have a chance to respond to your hypothesis and identification of variables that could be used to further investigate the problem.

Using resources available through the Hunt Library locate a primary source and secondary source dealing with the same research topic. Provide the citation (in APA format) and write a brief summary for each source. The summary should include the primary research question, a description of how the author(s) obtained data used in the research, and the main conclusion of each research project. Identify at least one research question that could extend this stream of research. In addition, critically evaluate the process used to collect data for the study. What improvements could be made in the data collection process (if any)? Be sure to provide enough of the background/research problem that allows your classmates to read your summary and comment.

A test of three methods of compensation of factory workers. The methods are hourly wage, incentive pay, and weekly salary. The dependent variable is direct labor cost per unit of output.
A study of the effects of various levels of advertising effort and price reduction on the sale of specific branded grocery products by a retail grocery chain
A study to determine whether it is true that the use of fast paces music played over a store’s public address system will speed the shopping rate of customers without an adverse effect on the amount spent per customer.
