Discussion – Week 2

Financing Health Care in the United States

In order to influence health care policy and to effectively advocate for issues that directly impact patient care and health outcomes, it is critical to understand the components of health care financing and factors that impact funding. Without this understanding and without a sustainable financing plan, the implementation of the best policies will not occur. For this Discussion, you and your peers will explore and discuss how health care financing directly impacts nursing practice, treatment options, and patient outcomes.

To prepare for this Discussion, review the following:
