To begin, identify the organization you have selected and briefly describe an example of organizational change in the public or nonprofitorganization of your choosing. Apply the eight factors to the organizational change by completing the Factor column of the handout. Fillin the descriptions of the organization for each of the eight factors. As you complete the matrix provided for each of the eight factors, please describe in 2 or 3 bullet points how the organizational change you have chosen to study accomplishes, or in some cases fails, to accomplish the specific factor. Then, apply the five frames analysis to the eight factors by completing the Five Frames column of the handout.

For example, in the first matrix factor, Ensuring the Need, you might have described how the employees in the organization are motivated to change and want a more flexible workplace that better addresses their needs. You would then fill out the Five Frames column with “Human Resources” and a brief explanation of your rationale. Please note that some factors, depending on the organization, may havetwo or more frames that would simultaneously describe the dynamics in that one factor. In each case, you will want to describe the rationale or reason for selecting the relevant frame. Note: It is not enough to just list the name of the change factor.
