PURPOSE
The purpose of this assignment is to: a) obtain data on the health of a nation listed by the World Health Organization, b) describe morbidity and mortality of a nation, c) identify risk factors for morbidity and mortality of a nation, c) identify possible challenges to obtaining complete and accurate national health data, d) determine potential assistance needed by the country based on health data evaluated, e) present ideas in a clear, succinct and scholarly manner.
REQUIREMENTS
Assignment Criteria for the Paper:
1. Choose a country from the list of member countries identified by the World Health Organization.
2. Using the table provided identify:
a. The country
b. Total population
c. Gross national income per capita
d. Life expectancy at birth
e. Probability of dying under five (per 1000 live births)
f. Most recent adult mortality rate and the year of that data
3. Discuss the morbidity of the country (disease prevalence and incidence), with scholarly support.
4. Discuss risk factors for morbidity and mortality, based on the data evaluated with scholarly support
5. Describe possible challenges to acquiring complete or accurate mortality and morbidity data for this country, with scholarly support
6. List five other reliable and scholarly sources of health information for this country, other than the World Health Organization.Describe how this second source was determined to be scholarly and/or reliable.
7. Based on the data reviewed, discuss one area this country might require assistance with to improve health, with scholarly support.
8. Grammar, spelling, punctuation, references, and citations are consistent with formal academic writing and APA format as expressed in the 6th edition
9. Include a minimum of ten sholarly resources published within the past 5 years, not including your textbook. References may include scholarly websites of organizations or government agencies and must be presented using APA 6th edition format for electronic media.
