DQ1 What is the teacher’s role in guiding their students’ development? How does the teacher’s role vary and change depending on the age/grade level of students? Choose two grade levels to compare. Does the teacher’s role differ between the environments for grades K-5 and 6-8?

DQ2 How can you show compassion, care, and concern for a student who is struggling to reaching their educational goals? Provide an example of how to encourage this student who is struggling. Remember that their struggle may come from various areas in their life and education.

Reflecting on this verse, what is the role of a teacher in guiding and supporting students in the growth of their moral development? How will your assistance/guidance in moral development differ depending on the grade you are teaching (i.e., K-5 as opposed to grades 6-8)?

DQ2 What is the difference between learning and development? Consider whether learning influences development or development influences learning and why. For example, could a student move from one stage of development to the next through learning, or in order to learn, must the student have reached a specific level of development?
