How has this changed the way individuals approach negotiations and bargaining? What are some resources that an individual can use to improve their skills in this area and improve implementation of internet negotiations? Topic 3: Describe how the organization you work for handles purchasing (do not identify the organization). If not currently employed, discuss the purchasing process in general. What might be the legal ramifications for the business entity and the individual if someone does not follow this process? LGMT 536 Purchasing for Logistics and Supply Chain Managers Week 7 Discussion Lean Supply Chain Topic 1: To implement a lean supply chain, researchers argue that a system-wide approach should be taken to control inventory investment. Discuss the argument with your own experiences in your organization or in general. Topic 2: Purchasing transportation services is typically the largest cost component of any product. Discuss how a purchasing agent can reduce this cost while maintaining the desired level of service. It is important to consult outside sources (and list those that you use) beyond the course textbook. Topic 3: In the early 21st century, e-Purchasing has allowed individual departments to purchase many items that were once purchased by a central purchasing agent. What kinds of issues may this cause based on the information you have learned thus far in this course?
