Using the conceptual framework on p. 2-3 in the required reading by Powell-Cope, Nelson, and Patterson, develop a 2-3 page paper based on one technology that is used in direct patient care. The technology needs to be a more complex one such as a ventilator or an electronic health record. A technology such as a digital thermometer, sphygmomanometer, or otoscope are not acceptable. It may be that you have never participated in the approval process for major technologies. That is exactly the reason for this assignment. It may be necessary for you to interview several people in an organization to learn all the steps required for approval and acquisition of a major new technology.
