The use of telemedicine applications has accelerated the adoption of  medical tourism by patients within the worldwide marketplace. As the  population ages and continues to travel and vacation within locations  that are not always within major cities and hotel chains, there are  instances when a patient requires a medical evaluation. Patients may  prefer to have their own private physicians be part of that evaluation  process. 

There are also many patients who choose to have a surgical  procedure within a foreign country due to economic factors.
