Sharing great content from blogs or website to social media is a great way to get readers as soon as a post is published.•Increase brand awareness – Social media is one of the most cost-efficient digital marketing methods used to syndicate content and increase your business’ visibility. Implementing a social media strategy will greatly increase brand recognition since it will be engaging with a broad audience of consumers. •Better customer satisfaction – Social media is a networking and communication platform. Creating a voice for the company through these platforms is important in humanizing the company. Customers appreciate knowing that when they post comments on your pages, they will receive a personalized response rather than an automated message. Negative Impacts•Negative publicly – In the days before social media, negative company experiences might stay within an individual’s circle of friends; now, stories of bad customer service and disappointing products can run quickly through social media networks. It has become more difficult for companies to contain negative publicity.•Unauthorized Employees Speaking on Company’s Behalf – It’s difficult for companies to monitor employee social media activity and prevent them from speaking on company matters without authorization. •Reduced Control over content – One of the defining characteristics of social media platforms is the ability of multiple users to interact with a single piece of content. These interactions, such as reposts, ‘Likes’ and comments, are what shape social media success, but they can also turn against a campaign if the comments are negative or off-topic.I think the positives outweigh the negative in every way. Social media is a great way for businesses to get their brand out there and interact with customers. It is free marketing if done correctly.Business can do their best to counter the negative impacts of social media in several ways. One way is to teach employees not to respond or post information about business unless they are authorized to. Discuss the key data protection points that must be taken into consideration prior to a strategy plan and policy being established for a company that has large data repositories and numerous external partners.•Assess the value that the International Standards Organization (ISO) provides CIOs, regardless of the industry in which the company is engaged.
