Please give a brief reply using a min of 130 words… include original question with answers no special format or cover page needed  1.  While reading about the various leadership era’s and theories, I kept asking myself what kind of leadership era or theory do I fall under?  I concluded that I didn’t fall under just one type.  I was a combination.  I guess we can all relate to various types, given life situations and the unexpected.  I never imagined myself being a single parent or the sole provider for my family but such is life.  I took on the leadership role with my children and career because I had to hit the ground running!  Situational leadership defiantly plays a factor in my situation and I would say that I was also taught very important leadership skills that have helped advance my career. 2.  This style of leadership believes that there is no one way to lead. ‘This is like being a parent, there is no one way to parent. The style will depend on the child. Within an organization the style will depend on the employees behaviors. People can learn to become leaders. It’s not something you were necessarily born with. Some people are born with the characteristics but they can also be taught. 3.  According to our book demonstration of competence and skills are central to development power in early stage of a leader’s career Nahanandi, A (© 2015, 2012, 2009,).Most successful leaders will possess some degree of legitimacy through formal titles, and along with status and symbols that will demonstrate their power. Leaders that are during the late age stage will learn to let go of the power gracefully. When they reach retirement age they will be thriving in public and private organizations and enjoying considerable power and influence. And a leader at this stage of there career will need to plan for it, and trying to find new personal sources of power and fulfillment.4.  Legitimate power is also known as positional power. As these names suggest, legitimate power is the power that a person in the organization holds because of his/her position and that is considered to be legitimateexpert power is that kind of power which an employee has due to the knowledge and expertise that he/she possesses. Knowledge is wealth in today’s world and is highly sought after by organizations. Coercive power is the power that a person has which he/she uses to coerce or threaten other employees. Coercive power is used to enforce strict deadlines and punishable actions in the workplace and scare employees.Referent power is power that is a resultant of the personality of a person. The relationships that a person develops with coworkers and the charisma with which a person is able to present himself/herself to others results in a certain level of respect and approachability towards that person.Reward power arises out of the authority that a person has to recognize and reward people. Ways to do this can be by salary hikes, bonuses, paid leave, company sponsored vacation or even promotions. Employees who possess reward power can influence the performance of employees considerably.
