Greet my 3 classmate please no word count.Jacqueline RodriguezHello class! My name is Jacqueline Rodriguez and I am 34 years old. I live in North Carolina with my four children Isabella, Noel, Novalee and Max. I am a mom of twins (boy and girl) Noel and Novalee. My kids range in age from 9 to 6 years old. Currently I am a 6th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher going on my third year of teaching next school year. Previously I taught Kindergarten and that was a big leap from kindergarten to middle school. Since having some experience in the classroom I feel that assessments are so important in so many aspects. Assessments help teachers plan lessons and differentiate instruction for our students. It also allows us to use the data from assessments to see student growth and where we as teachers can improve our lessons. This leads me to the learning outcome that most intrigues me (Design learner-centered instruction aligned with Common Core State Standards, digital age standards (NETS-S), and 21st Century skills to promote learner achievement and growth). I want my classroom to be a place where students are learning in an innovative and 21st century based learning environment and using their skills to further their knowledge on the content being taught.Currently I am working on my Masters in Education and have a BA is Psychology. I have always had a love for teaching and decided to go back to school to get my Masters in Education. This will be my fourth course and I am so excited to continue learning more.  A fun fact about myself is that I am also an International Bestselling Published Author and have written five titles so far with more on the way. I also enjoy baking so much that I often times bake WAY too much! In teaching this course, I hope Dr. Adkins does provide a great deal of constructive criticism and feed back to help me grow and further my knowledge as an educator.I look forward to working with everyone! Chameka Dalton Hello everyone,My name is Chameka Dalton. I am from Memphis, Tennessee. I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I just accepted my first teacher position as a kindergarten teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. The MAED Program Learning Outcomes that most intrigue me is: Design appropriate and challenging learning experiences informed by analysis of how learners develop individually across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical patterns to promote student learning and growth.Students learning development and academic achievement will always be my main focus. This outcome will allow me to be a more effective as a new teacher at creating appropriate all around lessons. I know that there are multiple forms of assessments used to guide teaching and learning. Assessment is an ongoing process to improve students academic achievement as well as instruction.During this course, I hope Dr. Adkins provide me with guidance needed to mold me into a better teacher.  Rebecca BrownHello Everyone, My introduction is a bit late as I have been having great difficulty with the online system and getting error messages when trying to log on. My name is Rebecca and I am a single mother of two beautiful girls ages nine and thirteen. I would be lying if I said life was peaches and cream with them. My oldest child is high functioning special needs with a diagnosis of Autism, anxiety, and sensory disorder. I have been blessed to seek early intervention with her from birth through various programs since she was born premature. She is now holding her own just below her grade level with minimal aids to assist her such as key notes and multiplication tables. I am a proud mother as I saw her close out her seventh grade year with four A’s and two B’s. I also work full-time as a Pre-K teacher at a Kinder Care facility in Elk Grove, California. I love all my students and was able to share the joy and pride of watching them graduate and sending them off to Kindergarten at the end of the summer program. When I am not working I play on a local Women’s Flag Football Tournament Team. We practice three to four days a week at three hours or more each practice. When it is a week of a tournament we practice everyday such as this week. We are traveling to Fresno, California to play in a Tournament on Saturday. We travel all around to play and have been to Seattle, Oregon, Las Vegas, Long Beach, and Florida. I truly enjoy the sport and the women on the team as we have become an extended family and have each other’s backs. The team has a rule that comes before football and that is family, work, and school. Those are priorities first and football second. I love keeping busy and am not sure what I would do if I was not busy. When I am not playing football, working or doing homework I am driving for Lyft too.The MAED Program Learning Outcome that stands out to me is design and challenging learning experiences that are informed by the analysis of how learners develop individually across the cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical patterns to promote student learning and growth.Assessments are also a fundamental need in a classroom for teachers and students. Assessments are a way for teachers to know where to direct the future lessons as well as knowing where students may be struggling. Assessments are a way to learn different learning styles of your students as well as for students to learn what works for them too. This may help them with future study skills as well as test scores. Assessments could also detect a learning disability early on which allows a student to receive early intervention before they fall between the cracks and left to fail.
