Week 4 Project – Developing a Training Program on Information Security The HIPAA Security Rule requires healthcare facilities to address the training of their employees on the vulnerability of protected health information and how this information is protected.As the Security Officer for your facility, you are charged with developing security policies for the EHR and creating a training program to meet the intent of the HIPAA Security Rule.The training program must include how employees will be informed of periodic security updates, guarding against malicious software, reporting login discrepancies, creating and safeguarding passwords, handling security incidents and consequences for noncompliance with security policies.The security policies define the framework around which an information security program is managed and answer the who, what, where, when, why and how questions of information security.You will need to create specific policies for: (1) assigning levels of access to health information and how this access is monitored, (2) creating, changing and safeguarding passwords, (3) guarding against, detecting and reporting malicious software, and (4) handling security incidents.Requirements: Security policies will be created using Word.Each policy should not be more than 1-2 pages in length and the format should be the same for each policy.Format must include the policy name, the date effective, policy owner, purpose of policy and steps of the policy.Training Program will be created using PowerPoint.The presentation must be a minimum of 15 slides and a maximum of 25 slides with a reference page.A minimum of two references are to be used in creating the training program.
