This calls for more efforts to identify the causes of nurse shortage and what can be done to alleviate the problem. Appropriate recruitment and increasing the stability of nurses in the profession hold the potential of ensuring that the healthcare quality is maintained. However, increased hiring of nurses will only alleviate nursing shortage for a moment since majority of the nurses will still leave the profession. Consequently, instituting efforts meant to retain nurses represents the best strategy of reducing nursing shortage since the major goal of any healthcare system is the provision of quality care at minimal cost.The nurse shortage in the country is caused by the high rate of nurse turnover.Secondary hypothesis: Since the greatest turnover of nurses is caused by dissatisfaction with the workplace, improving working.
