For chapter 1 :Brainstorm about things you have heard people say about children, both today and in years past. For example, ‘Children should be seen and not heard.’ You can include expressions, attitudes, sentiments, etc. Have these messages changed over the years? How? How do these messages reflect our view of children? Has society’s view of the child changed today? How? Provide some specific examples to demonstrate how you believe society views children today.Then: At the end of each week, students will submit a one-page reflection (double-spaced) of what they learned during the week from the assigned materials and discussions.
