30 Aug You will be expected to use your research and writing skills

You will be expected to use your research and writing skills to craft a response to one of the questions. Each written response to a question or a response must be backed up and supported with a minimum of three (3) appropriate scholarly resources other than the course text. Your answer to the question should be no longer than 650-700 words (not including references) or about a page and a half of text, single spaced at 12 point font. You will notice that the amount of writing required is limited so that you will need to be as clear and concise as possible but also provide enough information so that it is impactful and informative.Select one of the following questions to write your Forum Discussion on.Discuss how something of interest to you will be impacted by climate change?[how will the projected temperature, precipitation, storms, sea level, etc change impact your selection] How will it impact/influence your favourite type of recreation (fishing, snowmobiling, skiing, hiking, etc.); How will it impact your travel plans?; How will impact your family/friends farm or business?; etc.2. Talk to someone in your life – a friend, an acquaintance, a family friend, etc. – through a phone call or an online video chat service (e.g. zoom, facetime, skype) for about 30min about the climate change issue. Take Notes. Your submission would be your reflection on what they had to say about the issue. When you write up your post, don’t use any last names in the write up; just refer to them with their first name and as a ‘family member’ or ‘family friend’ or a ‘friend from school or work’.a. Questions you could ask may include: How do they feel about climate change?; What do they know about the issue?; What do they think about the issue?; Do they actively work to reduce their carbon footprint?; What have they done to reduce their footprint?; Would they be willing to change their behaviour or actions to lower their footprint?; Do they think it will impact them?; how much will it impact them?; Will it influence their job or business?; Do they think they can adapt?; Do they use air travel?; Do they purchase carbon offsets?; Do they support a carbon tax?; Have they heard about geoengineering?; etc.b.Possible Reflection questions: How did you feel while you interviewed this person?; If this person represents the average Canadian – What do their views of climate change potentially tell you about the future? About where emissions might reach? What the CO2 concentration might reach? About finding mitigation or adaptation solutions? Given what you have learned in this class, did the person you talk to have any misconceptions about our changing climate?; If so, are greater efforts at the education of the general public required?; What did you learn from the experience? Has their attitude or understanding, representing the general public been discussed in the literature? Have there been any suggestions on how to explain it or handle it?; Are you optimistic humanity will solve climate change?3. When faced with the development of this pandemic, governments around the world acted in general, quite quickly and decisively in order to mitigate and solve the problem. The ‘lockdown’ of approximately one-third of the planet’s population has resulted in some quite rapid and positive changes to the natural environment. What if the world responded to our climate crisis as it has to the pandemic? Could it happen? How likely do you think it is to happen?
