Orientalism can be defined as the way a person or a society might imagine, distort, exaggerate and even emphasize on the differences between the western cultures and the eastern culture especially that from the Middle East in a negative manner.? The reason behind this negative view of other cultures is the fact that the western people have the belief that these cultures are associated with characteristics such as backwardness, uncivilized people and there are always in dangerous times, (Evelyn Alsultany) . Some of the people from the west believe that the societies from the east are yet to develop and therefore they do not want to be associated with such people. An example of such beliefs is the fact that people have written down texts and are recorded in the news associating people from such regions with terrorist activities.
