Americans saw this new wave nightly on their television sets. Characters like Mary Richards, Rhoda Morgenstern, Ann Romano, Maude Findley, and Alice Hyatt were all examples of the Second Wave of Feminism. They were women who had lived outside the home and wrestled with important issues of the day including dating, marriage, divorce, sexual harassment, equal pay, birth control, and abortion.
