The following activities with predecessor and time requirements are given below:

You are to use Microsoft Project to first create the Gantt Chart and add the appropriate columns for ES, EF, LS, LF information.

Find the critical path activities. What is the immediate Predecessor(s) for the concert itself? [What would prevent the concert from happening on time?]. When is the concert?

When will the project be completed [or rather, since it must be done by a given date, how soon must one get started]? Note that MS Project considers non-working days. Are they really non-working? Go to the Timescale window to adjust.

You may find moving the order of tasks will help keep the Gantt Chart cleaner and easier to interpret. You can drag whole lines up and down once everything has been entered. You can put groups of tasks together by creating two levels of activities. This can also help keep information clear.

Print out the Gantt Chart with the tables. Having access to a 11×17 printer helps but you may have to tape 2 pages together. Adjust the scale to fit.

Switch to the Project Network View and print this as well.

Write a few paragraphs on the results of this project. If you were in charge, what would you be worrying about? [Plan for success, anticipate failure.] The original case study mentioned potential issues with traffic getting performers into the venue. This information gives you little details as to where the concert might be held, anticipation of demand, etc. Create your own scenario as you interpret each of these tasks.
