The purpose of this assignment is to create a strategic project management plan for the implementation of a new technology to address a business solution that accounts for people, process, and technology.

In the Topic 2 assignment, you identified a business solution and selected a new technology or innovative means for applying an existing technology to address the problem/issue.

The decision to adopt this technology will directly impact your department. To ensure strategic implementation of the selected technology, you must compare the benefits and challenges of utilizing cloud computing, outsourcing, and mobile computing and the role these will play in the adoption of the selected technology. More importantly, you must consider how the technology will affect the customer experience.

For this assignment, you will use Microsoft Project.

Include the following required components in the Project Management Plan:

Executive Summary that addresses key points from the business case, includes the Porter's competitive strategy you will be supporting, and explains at least two ways the technology will produce measureable organization value (MOV).

Project Scope

Project Timeline: Project Plan in Microsoft Project that accounts for the major business and technology milestones.

Project Budget that accounts for people and technology cost. Business resources are nonbillable. Technology resources are billable. Purchasing of software (1-year licenses) must be included. Cloud computing can be utilized. Costs for the software and possible increase in hardware based upon the technological solution also need to be determined.
