For this MCA, you will be preparing a paper which responds to questions about this module’s topics. To assist you, we have prepared a template for you to use. This will help you to organize your paper. Follow the instructions below and please ask your professor if you have any questions.

1. Download the Module 3 MCA Paper Template (in the Module 3 Management Concepts Assessment in Blackboard). You will use this document for your paper.
2. Open the document in Word, and click Save As to place your name in the beginning of the filename.
3. Type your name in the cover sheet.
4. Type the date submitted (example: October 1, 2021).
5. For each heading in the template (example: Chapter 4 – External and Internal Organizational Environments and Corporate Culture), you will see an area to type the responses to questions on this instructions sheet.
6. Additional guidance:
· Your paper should follow APA format, and should be in your own words. Any content you take from a source must be inside quotation marks and must be cited in-text (author, date).
· In APA formatting, you are not permitted to use “I.” Instead, you must be an independent researcher. Say, “the organization” or “the salesperson,” not “I would.”
7. You should list the references you used to develop your paper.

1. Chapter 4 begins with a discussion of the impact of the external environment on an organization (see Exhibit 4.2 ).
a. Consider an organization that you are familiar with. Choose one of the external factors discussed in Chapter 4, and describe how a change in that factor has recently affected that organization.

a. What are some major differences between mechanistic and organic organizational structures and systems?
b. Provide an example of an organization which utilizes a mechanistic organizational structure, and an example of an organization which utilizes an organic organizational structure. Why do you think they use these type of structures?
3. This chapter also focuses on organizational culture, one of the internal factors which affect organizations.
a. Why do you think it is so critical for a manager to understand the influence of organizational culture on its employees?
b. Consider a company that you currently work for, or have worked for in the past. Which type of organizational culture would you say that company has, based on the “The Competing Values Framework” in your etext Exhibit 4.21 ? Explain why you came to this conclusion.
Chapter 5 – Ethics, Corporate Responsibility, and Sustainability
1. Why is ethical leadership important in organizations?
2. Can anyone in the organization be an ethical leader, or do you think this is reserved for managers?
3. Consider the virtue-related values discussed in this chapter. In your current role at work (or a former role if you are not presently working), describe those top 2 or 3 virtue-related values that you feel you are most important to your role as an ethical leader.
4. In the video with Simon Sinek in the Module 3 Lesson, he describes the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as being more than just donating money. Discuss how this relates to the concept of the Triple Bottom Line: Profit, People, and Planet and the firm’s responsibility to all of its stakeholders?
