Monotheism Versus Polytheism

Choose two religions that we will study in this class. Research those two religion’s basic beliefs on social justice and the framework for that religion’s social justice platform. You will need to find out how the social justice movement began, any leaders that are noteworthy in that religion’s social justice platform, and the guiding principles of the platform for social justice. Explain why social justice is important to that religion. Then, compare the two religions in terms of their understanding of social justice, the difference that the religion has made on society in terms of its social justice platform, as well as other differences that you discovered. Areas of social justice that you could consider are: gun control, death penalty, gender roles, sexuality and marriage, poverty, public education, ethnic relations and immigration, and ecology.

This paper must be at least 1500 words (no more than 5000 words) and proper documentation for references will need to be given. (Include a bibliography and use footnotes.) You must have at least 3 references (not including the course textbook) for this paper. I do not accept non-academic sources- such as Wikipedia.
