They will help children problem solved, measure and develop their own spatial awareness, and teach them how to use and understand shapes. For example, encouraging children to problem solving by asking question ‘ how many spoons do we need for everyone in this group to have one each? Theirs many ways math can be incorporated in the curriculum, providing and planning activities to support children in math. Toys can also support children’s learning of maths, using blocks towers ir counting them un a line. Math should be planned and prepared lession assist children in assimilating concepts relating to numbers. International teaching and high quality math involves teachers inviting children to be able  to enhance children natural interest in mathematics and their disposition to use it to make  sense. Building on children experience and knowledge including teaching practice that strengthen children problem solving and reasoning processe as well as representing communication and connecting mathematical ideas. Teaching in general should be a combination of both plan and  unplan activities we should be able to identify and recognized the opportunities provide to us to be able use them as a teaching opportunity, Examples of appropriate ways to include math are:Classification is a beginning math concept and is when sort or group by some common characters such as size, shape,  number, and  color. Clasdifying include separating objects in order. Number concept counting and understanding number operations. Children can fingerplay, nursery rhymes can help with repetition reinforced the ability to began memorization.When children play teachers can encounter with mathematical learning experiences for example when playing hop scotch,  you can count how many times you hop. This is a concept that is easy to integrate to a math concept. Almost anything in the classroom can be counted, sorted by color or sizes, and patterned. We have many manipulative activities that involves counting, number recognition, shapes, patterning and is all included in the classroom activities and materials for children to explore. Teachers can take advantages of some of those opportunities when a child is using one of these activities if she would like to help enhance a child’s math skills. I believe this skill should be teach appropriately to their age level. Sometimes teacher can have activities that involves teaching a math concept in a more direct way and purposeful to the children but still be conducted developmentally appropriately.For example as I would like the children to learn how to count 1-5. I would read the children the book of ‘the five little monkeys jumping in the bed’. I would read it to them a couple times so the children can get familiar with this book. Then as i’m reading the story I would ask them ‘how many monkey’s are left?’ every time after one monkey falls of the bed. The children will become familiar with this book. Then, I would expand this lesson by singing the song five little monkey’s jumping in the bed with the children jumping and acting the story of the book and having one child at a time to pretend to fall to the ground and then ask them ‘how many are left now?’ This is another way the children are learning to count, learn about quantity, in a visual way and by participating in this planned activity. This is fun way to teach this math concept.Then we can add another activity about monkey’s by adding a monkey stamp and stamp pads. Have it available in the art area and if we see children stamping monkey’s in a paper we can ask ‘how many monkey’s do you have in your paper?’, and maybe the child will begin to count them. Another counting activity can be the monkeys in the barrel. Have the children connect some monkeys and we can ask them to make two sets of strings of monkeys a longer one and a short one. Through observation, play experiences, and interaction with the children, teachers can determine the best way to incorporate math. Determining what’s developmentally appropriate depends on the child individually. The teacher should use formal instruction as well as spontaneous instruction to make sure the needs are being met for all children.Two ways to include math throughout the day through a lesson plan for a preschool setting is through an ice cream counting activity and a color sorter activity. The ice cream activity would include felt triangles, small rubber tipped tongs, colorful cotton balls and a table. The felt would be cut in triangle to mimic the shape of a waffle cone. Each triangle would have a number written on it. The objective is to use the tongs to remove the cotton balls from the basket to the cone, matching the correct number of cotton balls to the correct triangular cone. The next curriculum activity would be a color sorting activity. The materials include about 3 to 4 different colors of tape and an available open space. The objective is to place the tape in the shape of a square on the floor. Allow the children to bring random items in the classroom matching the colors taped on the floor.Two ways to include informal math experiences is at lunch time and on the playground. At lunch time the children learn about portions while serving themselves and making their plates. The children also learn to ask for more when wanting to pour milk or asking for more food. The next curriculum activity would occur on the playground. When multiple children want to swing, setting a time limit on a timer is a good way to learn about taking turns and solving problems.
