How much are American Indians expected to shed their cultural heritage to become a part of contemporary society? Do American Indians resist assimilation? How? Why? One of the reasons for this change will be that Hispanic/Latinos will comprise about one-fourth of the U.S. population. Following this notion, how do Hispanics/Latinos view themselves (past, present, and future); and how are they viewed by others (past, present and future)?
