Please Submit Bibliography and Thesis statement by Saturday week 1. Part A: The Paper1. Write a 5-7 page paper (not including cover sheet, reference list, etc.) on a strategic leader (Bill Gates) of your choice (from experience, from your book, from any source you choose). 2. Tell us about your CEO/Leader’s: background – how he/she came to be CEO/Leader; his/her leadership philosophy, strategy and tactical moves; and indicate the particular factors that you feel make him/her a “strategic leader.”3. Provide supporting facts (you may use any source except Wikis).4. This will be partly opinion, you may use “I” statements, such as… “I believe that…”5. Writing Style: Students are expected to submit written products/discussion entries following the most current APA writing guidelines published by the American Psychological Association. Students should read and become familiar with these standards. Quoted text must be accompanied by an appropriate explanation. This means for every one line of quoted text there is to be a one-paragraph synthesis of the relevance to the topic being discussed.6. WIKIPEDIA and other non-academic writing sources are NOT considered professional, scholarly literature appropriate as citations or for supporting your text in academic papers. Use of non-scholarly citations will result in loss of points. Bulleted lists of items or statements are not APA style and not acceptable in papers.7. It is also important to choose language appropriately, so that your writing may not be construed as biased or discriminatory. Words that reflect bias regarding presupposed outcomes of the research project or with respect to issues such as ethnicity, nation origin, gender, marital status, age, religion, sexual orientation, or disability should be avoided. Useful guidelines concerning both writing style and appropriate use of language can be found in the APA manual.8. All assignments submitted to the instructor for grading are due on the assigned due date. As a general rule, late assignments are not accepted. Any acceptance of a late assignment is at the discretion of the instructor after email communication with the student, prior to the due date. All accepted late assignments are subject to a late penalty.9. Professionalism: Your assignments reflect your abilities to articulate your thoughts in writing. Be mindful of your spelling, presentation, and organizational skills when writing.Part B: The PowerPoint Project (Due Sunday of Week 7)Create a Powerpoint presentation showcasing your paper.10. The presentation must include information from your paper on the CEO/Leader’s: background – how he/she came to be CEO/Leader; his/her leadership philosophy, strategy and tactical moves; and indicate the particular factors that you feel make him/her a “strategic leader.”11. There isn’t a “minimum” number of slides for this project – create a meaningful presentation that illustrates each of the pieces outlined in item #1.12. Format choice is left to you. You may use voice over if you like, but it is not required.13. If you are pulling information from the text or another source, you must cite your source in a footnote on the slide.14. Submit the presentation in Blackboard following the schedule outlined for week 8.15. Monitor and respond to all comments from your peers following the schedule outlined for week 8.16.
