The essay you submit for this assignment should be composed of complete sentences that address the following points: The Assigned Topic for your Final paper is: What is the one thing that should be changed about college now? Why should it be changed? How should it be changed? Who will benefit from this change, and how? Who would oppose/lose from this change, and how? How would the opposition best be countered? Your essay must include: The Proposition: Consider what is the best way to state the Proposition: as a description of a problem, as a call to action, as a warning off from impending disaster? To whom is this Argument addressed? Define your terms. (Consider the style and vocabulary in light of your intended audience.) The Body: Reasons + Evidence: In a 4-5 page argument, you should plan on setting forth the argument in no more than 4-5 main points (including the counter-argument.) Every point should cite to supportive evidence (including cites to sources.) You may choose a topic that has already been covered in the Modules, but you must update the material. You may cite to the various readings in this class, but you must ALSO perform some additional research and cite to at least four sources NOT included in the readings posted for this class. The Counter-Argument: Use citation to at least one authority to support your dismissal of the opposition to your proposition.
