Individual Learning Activity 1: Lessons Learned

Share your lessons learned from this course. In your initial post, identify at least two elements that went well in either your individual or group work, and identify at least two elements that did not go so well in either your individual or group work. Describe both the “what” and the “why” for each element, as well as “how” each element relates to the discipline of project management (at least 250 words). If you respond to a classmate in this thread, provide suggestions for “best practices” to address the elements that did not go so well (at least 150 words). For both your initial and response posts, make references to course resources and/or outside materials and cite/reference them appropriately in APA format. Any suggestions for “best practices” should be identified as such within the industry/discipline and should not simply be your own thoughts.

Individual Learning Activity 2: Pulling It All Together/Change Management

Throughout the course, you have been compiling documents that are critical in Project Initiation and Project Planning. Are you prepared to be the Project Manager on your project and make the transition from Project Planning to Project Execution? In this thread, share whether you believe you are ready to be the Project Manager for your team project for the execution phase, as well as why or why not. Next, explain how you will handle the changes that are bound to arise in the execution and monitoring and control phases. (This may also serve as a good transition from BMGT 487 to BMGT 488 for those of you taking the next course.) If you choose to respond to a classmate in this thread, focus solely on the change management portion and identify alternate strategies for implementing change management.
