Introduction In this topic paper, I will indulge in some statistical terms of social science. In this paper I will be discussing the rule of society and their effect on aging, elderly, sexism and concepts of woman role in our society. This whole study is to conduct by inducing actual figures and meanings for our society, and its role. The place in which we are living, and working can check physical, psychological, and social factors. Our thoughts, and views about social issues that have an effect on our society in which we are living. I will be comparing, considering these terms, and considering some key values. The aging society The aging society is the term that describes how age affects our society. In western society, there are many people of different ages moving, and interacting with each other. All of which are considered a part of the term “aging society”. According to Authors Perry and Perry “age is an ascribed characteristic according to which we are assigned a status”. These aspects, and responsibilities are given by legal restrictions, their views, environment, life outlook and society measures. Different ages, and gender of humans act differently in the same society according to how they are viewed within the society. Most young people act more often to the situations, and have legal privileges. Their reactions, and views represent their maturity level. Mostly young generations are the ones that want to develop a social change in societies. The Younger generation is looking forward to new ideas and adapting technologies more often. They have greater analyzing and adapting power depending on their age bracket. In comparison to the older generation, demand a satisfied life. They love to live within their rules and regulations. The Older generation, who demands specific requirements from governments. It is found that it can be more challenging to adapt to new things, and do not want to bring change in their societies. The older generation is considered more responsible compared to the younger generation. So it is defined that the property of value and right is changed by the age difference. A society with an increased elderly proportion We are living in a society which has a great population or portion of elderly. While population aging is described in the meanings of demographic roles that are always going to raise the elderly proportion of a country. As countries are moving towards technology, the proportion of elderly is increasing to a great extent in developed countries. Mostly in developed countries, people desire to live alone rather than to grow their families. Otherwise, in western sites, mostly traditional patterns are followed. In developing countries, most people extend their families to live happily when they reach the elderly generation. However,in many other countries the government has opened charitable organizations to provide care and affection for the elderly. If we consider the United States according to the text Contemporary society: An Introduction to Social Science” how we see aging and the elderly as “problematic”. This is demonstrated by two major issues that are discovered widely. One is the pension crisis that mostly elderly people face. The other is their health care strains. These 2 factors are mostly considered for the eldery. If these situations remain the same and elderly remain increasing, then there will be less development and adaptation. If we observe a society without a young generation, it means the world can become static. Youth are the main part of any country. Nevertheless, a world with increasing populations of humans means a need of further development and family growth. The existence and meaning of ageism Ageism is the word that describes the meaning of age effect . It is also defined as the consideration of a group in society on the base of age. Authors Perry and Perry describe ageism as “whose existence can be readily picked up in the even casual conversation, asserts, essentially, that the younger are superior to the old”. Ageism can be explained in terms of birg casual and systematic. Ageism was firstly explained by Robert Neil Butler ij 1969. He described it as the discrimination of age that developed on the base of sexism and racism. The main three elements are considered in the term of combination that connected indirectly and directly. Ageism is the prejudicial term and the process of aging. Ageism described our society in two main terms. Younger generation are the one that have innovative ideas and adopt new technologies and react more frequently. While the older or elderly generation are more responsible and practical in nature. So the aging process is moved towards the childhood to younger and then to elderly generation. As ageism increases, its effect on the human body also increases with the passing time. It affects human maturity and decision making ability. The maturity and decision making ability falls between the level of adolescents, children and elderly. Why is sexism an ideology that is detrimental to both men and woman Sexism is also considered as an ideology that helps to determine both genders (male and woman) separately. It is the discrimination described on the base of sex. In our typical society, the term affects the women especially to a higher level. We can link this term with the stereotypes and role of gender. Sexism only defines gender into two terms. It should not give the right to any gender to dominate others. Although in our typical society, there are people with furious mentally that consider women inferior to men. God made us equally. However these are our societies who give gender on the basis of superiority and inferiority. Extreme sexism is the term describing the sexual violence, hand touching, sexual harassment, sexual rape and many others. While the gender discrimination is based on the gender difference. These gender differences start from our school classroom to the workplace. It further raises cultural norms. (bhattacherjee, 2012) Sexual orientation is also subject to differential treatment. Sexual orientation can also be described under the subject of differential treatment. It is about enduring emotions, romance, attraction and feelings for other people. Sexual orientation of women and men separate them on the basis of their sexual practice. In this way, both the genders are treated differently. Sexual orientation is also defined in terms of the biological aspects, sex identity and the considerable role of social gender. The gender identity is also identified in terms of the psychological sense of both genders( male and female). The role of social gender is mainly described in terms of behaviors ( feminine and masculine) as cultural norms. In chapter nin of Contemporary Society: An introduction to Social Science authors Perry and Perry explain how genders roles are assigned. Authors go further to explain how males are assigned more of an “instrumental role” whereas women are assigned more of an “expressive role”. So it is understood that sexual orientation originate in term of exclusive homosexuality ratio factor. Moreover homosexuality and Bisexuality is also increasing in our society. Homosexuality is defind in terms of attraction, feelings and emotional attachment with the same sex. As our societies are moving towards technology advancement, more systems are going to introduce unnatural phenomena in our societies. While bisexuality is also increasing in our society. Bisexuality means to feel attraction, emotionally and physically attachment with both genders. By discussing all these factors, it is understood that the differential term is measured due to one’s perspective of how gender is seen within their society. It is known that women are treated unequally within our society. Many American psychologists execute complete studies on the women position within our society. After deep evaluation, it is observed that women have obtained many their rights via challenge and perseverance. In a recent study, a question was asked from various people of different ages about women’s rights. Approximately, 86% admitted women’s rights in 2018 while only 35% admitted women’s rights in 1946. This ratio has indicated that our societies are moving forward with positive behaviors and attitudes. However there are still many countries where human rights are not provided to women. And how we acquire gender roles Gender role can be defined in the term of sexual and social role which encompases all the biological genders containing their specific attitude, emotions and desires. These attitudes, emotions, behaviours and desires are generally acceptable in our society. Gender role can define the behaviours of genders on the base of masculine and feminine factor. The conceptions of gender role are depend on the expectations and variations in behavior. We can acquire the gender role by considering the society roles and amend positive attitude and behavior towards each desire. If we understand the difference between the variation and acceptance factor. Then our society is going to sustain in a featured way. All biological genders demand basic respect factors from others. All the men, women, and trangender should respect each other in a specific way. Perceived sex also desire appropriate behaviours and attitudes. Both major conceptions should further observed in conception. Musculine are defined as the gender with dominant nature. Mostly men are considered as muscline. While famine are defined as the gender with dormant nature. In our society, mostly the faminine are considered in terms of women. Both musculine and feminine have their own attitudes and behaviours which are sometimes not acceptable for society. For aching gender roles, firstly both have to understand and observe society acceptable behaviours and attitudes. (John A Perry, 2016) Conclusion In this topic paper, I have discussed some topics under the observations of social sciences. Social science is a broad term that discusses all the statistics of society ‘s issues. In our society, sexism is promoted and differences occur on the basis of sexual identities. Women are working hard for their rights in this society. Elderly generation is increasing with the social issues. Bisexualities and homosexualities are promoted in social orientation. All these topics are already discussed with brief arguments. After complete assessment analysis, the result which is concluded is that the society rules need to be redefined with equal rights no matter sex, gender or age. Works Cited bhattacherjee, A. (2012).
