The article is about the Ethiopian Government’s measures to curb the spread of the deadly Coronavirus. These measures include a jailing term of up to two years for people who are not adhering to the orders of wearing masks, no handshake rule, and not sitting at a table consisting of at most three people (De Brauw et al., 2020).

This is because people are way too comfortable like there is no existence of the virus. They are not taking enough care of themselves, and due to a peak of numbers of people affected by the virus, serious steps are now being undertaken (Informatics & Berger, 2020).

The virus has not yet affected the Africa continent compared to the European countries like Italy who experienced a large number of people; this is because Africa has a large number of young people compared to the European countries. Also, more rural areas in the region have led to a slow spread of the virus. The Africa countries also lack enough facilities to test the virus; hence getting the exact number of people affected by the virus is very difficult (Baye, 2020).

Ethiopia country is now fearing the increased number of death in the country; in the last week, there is a reported death of 79 people, but less than two percent of deaths are formally reported. And due to insufficient resources, it has become difficult to know the actual picture due to the difficulty in testing the Coronavirus. The carelessness of the people in the country has also led to a rise of fear in the country as they are not observing the measures which will help to curb the spread of the disease, leading the Government to take strict measures such as the imprisonment of people who are not following the measures to help reduce the spread of this disease (Alderman et al., 2020).

The disease has led to the Ethiopian people not conducting the election; thus, their voting rights are becoming inconvenienced. Also, people’s imprisonment for at least two years is not fair as one may forget to carry their masks, which may lead to him or her being jailed for a long time. The Government needs to shorten jail time and also the amount of fine being charged. Instead, the Ethiopian Government should educate the people to slap some sense in them and know that they are doing it for the benefit of themselves and not the Government. Compared to European countries where people have been provided enough education about the virus; hence they are very strict when observing the measures to prevent the disease’s spread(Kemseke, 2020).

COVID-19 poses a remedy danger to persons deprived of their freedom and to those who are in daily contactor with them. Several Council of Europe texts are applicable to allay these chances, comprehend the European Prison Rules and Committee of Ministers’ Recommendations. Two handbooks aiming to ameliorate prison healthcare and medical hedonics, and the organization and management of healthcare in prisons, may aid as guidance for organ condition in the authentic context. Additionally, in answer to the extremity of furnish importunate support to inmates and prison staff, protective materials are donated to several member States through the organization’s cooperation activities(Seaman, 2020).
