In particular, this assignment will introduce you to the specifics of Medicare. You will also learn about what you will need to do as a provider to be approved as a Medicare Provider. If your future is not as a provider, it is important to have this knowledge so that you can serve as a resource to those who will need it. Your future does hold leadership roles and this information is useful to you as a future leader and educator. You are required to complete the CMS module: World of Medicare. The module is located at MLN Web-based Training through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, which can be found at https://www.cms.gov/Outreach-and-Education/Medicare-Learning-Network-MLN/MLNProducts/WebBasedTraining.html (Links to an external site.)

You will need to register for access to the training program on the website. You are required to complete the training course, pass the post test, print the certificate, and then upload the certificate on the Module 5 Assignment page. The certificate will serve as proof of completion. Proof of completion = 100% for the assignment.

At the MLN Web-Based Training Site, https://www.cms.gov/Outreach-and-Education/Medicare-Learning-Network-MLN/MLNProducts/WebBasedTraining.html (Links to an external site.) , refer to the box on the left titled ‘How to Get Your Training Certificate’.

1. Create a training account. go to the LMS home page at https://learner.mlnlms.com (Links to an external site.) and select ‘Need an account?’

2. Begin to create an account. Under Organization, type in CMS-MLN Learners Domain – Organization. You can leave Job Title and Manager blank. Then hit Create. A Verification Code will be sent to your email.

3. Once you have entered your verification code, type World of Medicare into the Search Catalog window. Choose World of Medicare (January 2018) (Contact Hours: 77 min.) online.

4. After clicking on World of Medicare, scroll to the bottom and Enroll.

5. On the next page, I chose ‘Credit’ and ‘Normal’.

6. Then click Enroll.

7. Complete the Introduction, Lessons 1-5, and the Post-Assessment.

8. When you click, Introduction, you will start the course. You will only complete the World of Medicare for MSN 601 even though the Introduction notes it is the first of a three-part series. You are required to only complete World of Medicare.

9. After you complete all modules in the course, you must pass the post-test with at least a 70%. and then complete the evaluation in order to print the Certificate of Completion. After completing the post-test, print your score and then click the box to print the certificate. Follow the directions then to complete the evaluation which is necessary to complete in order to print the certificate.

The certificate must be submitted by 2400 EST on Wednesday of Module 5. (If you have difficulty printing the certificate, you can upload your the page of your post-test score as a substitute for the certificate.)
