In this discussion activity, address the following:

As the twentieth century neared its end, aviation had become a familiar part of American life and had even become part of its folklore and fantasy. In addition to being depicted in hundreds of films, aviation has been the subject of many television shows, books, magazines, comics, and many other media. Give a review and critique of an aviation-related film, book, or other creative medium that has captured your imagination while you have been taking this course.
Provide a properly-cited reference for the material you’ve chosen for your review and any links to related websites (if available).
The primary posting should be approximately 100 words. Review all submitted primary postings first, and ensure that your contribution is unique and adds to the discussion. In addition, you must also respond to at least twoof your fellow students’ posts with substantive replies.

This activity is worth 10 points: 6 points for your original primary posting, and 2 points for each of your two required replies.

Extra Credit Opportunity:A list of aviation films can be found by clicking on the link below. Five points of extra credit will be awarded to any student who can find one which is not on the list. The instructor will apply the points to a previous graded activity for which you did not receive full points. If you have achieved 100% on all activities thus far in the course, you will not qualify for the extra credit. The instructor will determine where and when to apply the extra credit.

During this period, the Cold War heated up with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan and the U.S.’s attention was focused on the hostage crisis in Iran. Summarize the military aspects of aviation during this period.
Compare this period of tension with the actual wars in the twentieth century and how they spurred the development of aviation technology.
Also address how the CIA and the Pentagon responded with their “ black programs” during times of nominal peace.
