One element that must be considered while developing a plan is how to forecast. This week you will use information you have already researched and build upon and explain forecasting for your entity.

Review the CAFR and budget information selected on San Antionio, TX in Week 2.

Write a 200- to 250-word summary about your forecasting approaches and your rationale. Ensure you:
Explain the importance of budgeting forecasting.

Identify various forecasting approaches

Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines to include, at a minimum, the APA cover page, Introduction, level headers for each required assignment discussion point, Conclusion and Reference page.

Assignment Contents:
For this assignment it is your responsibility to research a public safety program that has undergone significant budget actions. Some current ones are Minneapolis police, Louisville police, etc.

A Public Safety Program that has recently undergone a significant budgetary change. For example, suppose a state cut funding for a domestic violence program. What possible changes in public policy and the political process could have led to this decision? What may be the result?

Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word paper about how the political process and changing public policy at the federal, state, and municipal levels influence budgeting. Include details on how the change came about and its effect on the resulting program.
Ensure you:
Provide an Introduction previewing all the major points listed below:

Identify political, economic, social, and cultural influences that caused the change in the budget.

Identify the interaction among the federal, state, and municipal levels with regard to your selected program.
Specify the limits of the agency budget office and how they may try to compensate for those limits.

Identify some strategies and agencies politicians might use to justify increasing or decreasing the budget for the program you selected.

Include a Conclusion recapping all of the paper’s major points noted above.
